Audio Intro and Outro Tips
Writing an Effective Intro and Outro for Audio Programs
The formula for drafting the script for the Intro and Outro voiceovers for audio programs is as follows:
Intro – the idea is to record a short bio of who you are and why this audio program is interesting. We suggest creating ONE intro for a series of recordings (versus a custom intro for each Title). This would be similar to what you would read before you deliver a keynote presentation. Keep it short – under 1 minute. The script for the intro could contain:
- What you do and key credibility facts
- Maybe an interesting comment to kick-off the recording
Outro – The goal of the outro is to make it easy for potential customers to contact you for future business. This is what I call your CALL TO ACTION message, which is done best if you choose ONE call-to-action. When writing your outro, picture a person in your minds-eye as the perfect target audience to whom you wish to reach. Here are a few ideas to get started:
- You have been listening to __________, the world’s foremost _______________________
- To learn more about __________, visit www.__________.com and see our exceptional content.
- To book ______ for upcoming live events or coaching, call _____________________
